It is particularly important that patients are able to abstain from smoking and vaping for four to six weeks before and after their lipo procedure.

Liposuction surgery begins with either local anesthesia or general anesthesia depending on the patient’s needs. Dr. Jacobson then makes the necessary incision(s) in the treatment area.
What to Expect After Liposuction Surgery
Liposuction surgery is typically performed as an outpatient procedure, which means you will not need to stay at the surgical facility overnight. However, you’ll need someone to drive you home after your treatment due to mobility restrictions and the effects of the anesthesia.
